Suyan Chen joins Commercial Food Sanitation as a Food Safety Specialist with a focus on the bakery industry in China.
Suyan brings a strong technical foundation in quality and food safety, extensive experience leading complex food safety projects, and a deep understanding of plant-level requirements expected by QSR customers like McDonalds. She is passionate about supporting facilities in strengthening their food safety performance and is committed to providing practical, science-based guidance that promotes continuous improvement and enables food manufacturers to achieve operational excellence with confidence.
Suyan began her career at Tyson Foods, where she progressed from management trainee to Quality and Food Safety System Manager. In this role, she led food safety system audits, training programs, and FSQ culture development. She also supported key initiatives including the establishment of food safety systems, commissioning of new production lines, and startup of new plants.
After 12 years, Suyan moved to Be&Cherry Foods (a subsidiary of PepsiCo) as Sr. Supplier Quality Manager. She was responsible for supplier risk assessments, customer complaint management, and system capability improvements across meat, bakery, and dried-fruit manufacturing sites.
Suyan holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in food science and food safety from China Agricultural University.
