Eric Moorman is a Technical Development Manager in North America at CFS. He joined the company in 2025, bringing with him extensive experience from Butterball LLC, where he held various plant and corporate FSQA roles. His responsibilities included managing internal QA laboratories, conducting in-plant antimicrobial and process modification validation studies, and addressing issues related to microbiological process control, sanitation, and environmental monitoring. Eric has led numerous research trials focused on detecting, preventing, and controlling foodborne pathogens, in both manufacturing facilities and agricultural environments.

Eric is passionate about contributing to the scientific community and has held leadership roles in several food safety organizations, including the Food Safety Summit, the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), and the National Advisory Committee for Microbiological Criteria for Foods (NACMCF).

Eric holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science from Michigan State University, as well as a Master’s and Doctorate in Food Science—with a focus on Food Safety Microbiology—from North Carolina State University. Eric has HACCP, PCQI, and Listeria Control Specialist certifications.
