Yanying (Clara) Pan - Food Safety Specialist

Yanying (Clara) joined Commercial Food Sanitation in 2014 with great passion for food safety. Clara supports sanitation and hygienic design trainings in both North America and APAC regions, and provides on-site client support for various aspects of food safety and sanitation for meat, poultry, and seafood (MPS); dairy; and bakery industries. Clara’s skill sets include micro investigation and troubleshooting, environmental monitoring program development and implementation, sanitation programs, and equipment design reviews. Clara enjoys working with cross-functional teams on shared goals and conveying programs to the floor level.

Prior to joining CFS, Clara had five years of research experience in food microbiology. Her research focused on the prevalence of Listeria monocytogenes, developing subtyping systems for pathogen surveillance and the development of food safety intervention strategies and technologies for Salmonella and enterotoxigenic E. coli. She later joined the USDA Sanitary Program as a Program Support Specialist where she worked directly with the USDA and stakeholders in Afghanistan to develop and deliver hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and border inspection trainings for Afghan nationals working in both the private and public sectors.

Clara is bilingual in English and Mandarin. She received her Bachelor's degree of Science degree in Veterinary Medicine from Zhejiang University and Master's degree in Animal Sciences from Purdue University. She also holds a certificate from Better Process Control School.
